O'Connell was terrible in the pre-season, probably the worst QB I've seen play this offseason. We have 3 (probably 4) qbs better than him on this roster.

Yeah. I didn't get the pick when they made it, and he's looked absolutely terrible this year. The Rams could pick him up, even so. On the other hand, if the Rams passed on him and the Chiefs grabbed him, y'all would have the Patriots QB roster from last season: Cassel, Gutz, O'Connell.

So to sum it up, the Pats now believe that Guttierrez was worse than O'Connell and Andrew Walter.

I didn't get why the Patriots were drafting a QB in the 3rd when his free agency would come up before Brady was anywhere near retirement. It's not as if the odds of trading him for a 1st were going to be outstanding.

Oh, well. I'll have to wait for the book.

Should probably give that a look....

It's pretty obvious Thigpen is a bum and Croyle can't stay healthy and Gutierrez is what he is.

And with the possible exception of Gutierrez, they are all better than O'Connell.

Croyle can play about 15 minutes before going on IR so I'm not sure how that is helpful..

And I bet O'Connel can take center snaps which is more than I can say for Thigpen.

O'Connell is a third round pick who got cut by his team a year later, a team whose second best quarterback is Andrew Walter. What does that tell you?

O'Connell was amazingly terrible in the pre-season. Thigpen sucks, but he's a much better option than O'Connell.

Maybe I'm bias but I think Thigpen is useless, a guy who can't play in a proper offense has no place.
