Football This Sanchez Chap - Page 16

I fully admit that I'm not very savvy when it comes to football, but while watching the Chiefs game this weekend, CBS suddenly turned to the Jets' game instead (I'm not really sure why). Anyway, the Jets had a QB named Sanchez that seemed really good a throwing the ball (which is, I think, the primary goal of a QB). So, I started thinking: "I think this is the chap who the Chiefs could have drafted this year, but didn't."

Is that correct?

If so, how much are the Jets paying this Sanchez fellow in comparison to Cassel?

Why does it matter what he did in college?

Did he play reasonably well for the Patriots? Yes. Does he belong in the NFL? Yes. Does he deserve to be a starter? Most likely yes. Does he have a lot to improve upon? Yes.

If you want to say he's worse than Sanchez, that's fine. I'm personally holding off until the two at least have some reasonably equal playing ground, but I agree that Sanchez probably has the brighter future. I just don't understand why you're obsessing over invalidating him as a QB.

He still has a ton of upside. And I haven't seen anything that alarms me that he'll never reach it.

I don't recall him ever playing on offense, special teams yes.

I don't recall him ever taking snaps even when Leinart would come out for mop up duty, Booty usually came in, him or Michael McDonald.

Sanchez is better than expected (at least, it happened sooner than I thought). But Cassel, I have no idea what the **** we have because he's not getting any help. From the players. From the coaches. From the running game.

Making the wrong call on a QB is a franchise killer.

What bothers me about most OSU fans is when they get embarrassed on national TV in back to back title games all they can say is, "Well, at least we beat Michigan."

That's all they care about dude, John Cooper who was the coach there before recruited better, put a huge huge load of outstanding players in the NFL but because he'd lose 1 game a year and it was always to Michigan he got fired.

Like I said, the decision is done. And I see no reason why Cassel can't be a very good quarterback.

Eli Manning is no Ben Roethlisberger. He's a real good QB, but he'll never be as good as Roethlisberger. And the Giants passed up on the best young QB of our generation.

But that doesn't matter anymore. Because Eli became a franchise QB himself, even if he's not as good.

In other words, who cares about Sanchez anymore? It sucks, but we need to get over it. All I'm rooting for is Cassel to become a franchise QB. Even if that means he's worse than Sanchez, I'm fine with that.

Oh by the way Bill Parcells and his Dolphins are about to go 1-15, that philosophy sure worked to get their 1 year turn around last year, that's what I wanna be!
