McDaniels losing his locker room?

http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=88117

Quote:
All but buried amid the Brandon Marshall drama is Broncos coach Josh McDan- iels' benching of tight end Tony Scheffler for the game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs for a non-injury-related reason.

"I'm a competitor and have worked extremely hard this offseason to be able to fight for a chance to make the playoffs," Scheffler said Friday. "Him taking that away doesn't sit very well with me or some of my teammates."
Scheffler has been frustrated by his reduced role this season — he has 31 catches for 416 yards in 15 games, after catching 40 passes for 645 yards in 13 games last year.

He apparently expressed his frustration to a few teammates after the Broncos' 30-27 loss last Sunday to Philadelphia, and Scheffler was informed Wednesday by an assistant coach that he would not be dressing for the game Sunday against the Chiefs and would spend the week of practice on the scout squad.

"To be honest, I haven't even heard from Josh," Scheffler said.

It's based on contract value. Doesnt matter if he makes the Kyle "Pro Bowl" Orton next year. If he only signs for 3 years, 7M, he probably gets a 6th or 7th. Of course you need to have a free agent deficit to even qualify; I dont know if Denver has a lot of FA, but I imagine there will be quite a bit of turnover there again.

OK, your correct that he is risky. But he is not Brett Favre risky. He's not very good at being risky. That is where the difference comes into play. When Cutler tries to make a play he throws an inaccurate pass which leads to an INT. Is this not true? Why would someone want a headcase for a QB on their team?

Nope sorry. Cutler has had it way worse. Way worse line, and by far a worse receiving corp.

Your homerisms baffle me. The only team sniffing an SB the next 3-5 years is SD. Denver will join the Chiefs and Raiders as per annual top 10 draft teams.

All Cutler needs is a good QB coach and he'll be great. He has all the talent in the world, if someone can coach him and give him some guidelines, then he'll be very good. We saw that happen in Denver. Him and Bates were very good together.

Seriously. Russell HAS no skills, dumbass. Orton is a game manager. Nothing more. Cutler is more like Elway/Favre. High risk, high reward.

Does New England have "a good QB Coach"? And if so, would not Cassel have spent more time under his tutelage than Brady?

I think the whole QB Coach-thing is overrated. Talent is as talent does.

ESPN reporting that Scheffler and Marshall have been told they are not allowed on the sidleline, or in the locker room today.

I wonder if it's true... did the veteran leadership (as described) go to McD as a united front? If so, then good... if Brandon really did flip the crazy switch back on after eclipsing 100 receptions... well, it sucks and we'll see where he lands in 2010.
