And this is not a Cassell hater thread. It was funny hearing Dilfer commenting on how he went through the same thing as a QB. Because he sucked too. But he also won a super bowl. Manage the game and don't turn the ball over. Cassell played good enough to win tonight. Do that all season.

Can we count on special teams TDs all season?

We'll need a lot more in the future. I won't kill Matt tonight. I don't think he was helped by the coaching staff.

Hard to pass the ball when they don't give you many opportunities.
I think the coaching staff knows what they have. A QB that isn't very good. I can't seem to think Haley has much faith in Cassel, regardless of all the coach speak and other positive things he says about him. Like it or not, Cassel is going to make or break this team.

And I don't see Pioli having the nutsack to say screw it this experiement failed, and draft a QB high in the first rd next season or sometime in near future. As far as I see it, we're stuck w/ Cassel.

Yeah, I saw it too. One one play the DE was waving his arm at the ref as the OT pulled down on the front of his jersey.... it was blatent.

As I said in another thread however, the refs let them play. They did consult after a couple hankies were tossed and waved them off. They did let Dorsey smack Rivers late (4th down pass to end the game), so it all evens out for me.

The wide-open passes were due to blown coverage... guys missing their assignment because they were terrified Gates may rip them again (as he typically does). Even with holding, KC was able to apply pressure (obvious exceptions).

Fair enough. Pretty hard to fault the defense last night... open receivers or not. They rocked.

The rookie really got schooled. Reminded me of the first game when Kevin Ross was a rookie.

Stop the Chiefs run like the Broncos? At least the Chargers put up a fight.
