Emotional Primer - a Recent History of Chiefs vs Colts

Indianapolis...

Yes, we hate the Raiders; it's our DNA. And no team incurs my utter loathing and contempt like the Donks. But just for Week 5 of the 2010 season, let’s talk a little Colt-hate.

Now I know it’s hard to hate on the Colts the same way Chief fans hate Oakland scum and cheatin’ Denver dirtbags, especially for some of you younger Planet n00bs. Indy is talented. Indy is respectable. The Colts’ organization is a class act. Unlike Oakland and Denver, they don’t have scumbags, wife-beaters, cross-dressers, drunk drivers, dope smokers, or cheap-shot artists on their roster.

The Chiefs will certainly be road-dogs at Indy. They should be. Just having Manning, Clark, Adai, Wayne, Freeney, Bethea, Mathis, and Sanders on one roster would be a fantasy football player’s dream. But just for a moment, try to forget the Chiefs’ current record, the numerous Player of the Week accolades, and the stats. Pull up a chair, and let me break down some recent history for you.

In the ’95 playoff game at Arrowhead, in -9 windchill conditions, the underdog Colts walked away with a 10-7 victory over the 13-3 Chiefs. Of course, they were greatly assisted by the "kicker who shall remain nameless" missing three FGs, along with 3 interceptions. That was junk punch #1.

The Colts kicked us in the crotch again the very next year, and got a two-fer. The 9-5 Chiefs hosted the 8-6 Colts at Arrowhead in week 16, and again the Colts won a squeaker, 24-19. Consequently, both teams’ records went to 9-6, and in the final week of the regular season, the Colts received the final playoff spot over the Chiefs because of the tie-breaker. Junk punches #2 and #3.

It was seven long years before the Chiefs again faced the Colts in post-season play. You’d figure with all the new players, new rules, and seven years to forget bad habits, things would be different. The again 13-3 Chiefs hosted the Colts at Arrowhead, and despite Priest Holmes and Dante Hall, Peyton ****ing Manning had a near perfect day, beating the Chiefs 38-31 in the only punt-less playoff game in history. This one hurt the most for two reasons: our crappy D couldn’t stop them ONE time, and I froze my ass off during that game. With junk punch #4, I literally began to loathe Indy.

Although the 2007 Chiefs really had no business being in the playoffs, the stars aligned, Herm Edwards threw chicken bones on the floor, and there they were. Not surprisingly, they got their asses handed to them 23-8 in that first game and went home. But it was the fact that this thumping occurred in Indy that caused my blood to boil.

Which brings us to the present. The biggest burr in the Chiefs’ saddle over the last 15 years hasn’t been the Oakland Asshats or the Denver Douchebags. Sure, they’re so much easier to hate, but they aren’t the enemy this week.

I’m tired of getting clowned by the Colts...

I’m tired of the lop-sided record...

Most of all, I’m fed up with getting kicked in the nads with a horseshoe.

So respect and admire the Colts all you want, but for this week, and at least until about 3:45 p.m. CST on Sunday, I’m a Colt-hater.

Feel free to join me. Colts

I was there in '95 and in '03. I hate the Colts as bad as the Donks and Raiders. It's time to turn the tide and we have the brain thrust to do it in Crennel and Weis. Chiefs!

How cool is going into Indy knowing we have a chance to win?

Sunday can't get here soon enough.

That '95 game still leaves a scar on my psyche. If I ever meet kicker-who-shall-remain-nameless, I'm going to kick him right in the knees. It could only improve his game.

That said, I have the additional level of Colthate because I live in Maryland.

I just ordered my Satan Manning t-shirt, and I'll be ready for the game once it gets here. I'm looking forward to the extra fan respect we'll get for not only being 4-0, but getting it against the Colts.

I still say that Chiefs' team had no business being in the playoffs. Regardless, it was yet another kick in the nads, and thus reason to hate the Colts.
Well, that's kind of my point. As bad as the Chiefs were and had no business being in the playoffs, they still hung in there without an offense, for awhile at least. Just a sliver of an offense might have won that game. I think the Colts took them very lightly.

I live in Indiana, and have to put up with their douche fans at work every night. I know they have had our number in the past, so living here, I hate the colts more than the raiders and broncos. After they got beat yesterday I text every Colt fan I know and told them "If I was a Colts fan, I would be worried about the Chiefs coming to town Sunday!"

Got alot of @ssHat responses back lol

I also made up my mind about Herm vs. the Colts, but it was the regular season game that Brodie started. KC hung right with them into the 4th quarter, but then Herm refused to let Brodie throw downfield to try to win the game. He was content to sit back and hope Indy handed it to us -- in the RCA Dome, with Manning at the helm.

"You play to win the game" my ass.

After we win, it's going to be crazy. The whole world will become Chiefs fans and those of us who rode the Herm dragon into Hell will suffer identity crises.

I'm not sure what it feels like to be a fan of a winning team.

Man I use to go to a sport bar called Blind Pig. This MO FO Colts fan with a horse shoe tattoo upside down so when they score a TD he could raize his arms up & it be right side up. That guy was the biggest doughbag ever. All he did was hate on the Chiefs even when we weren't playing them. Scum bag of the earth.

**** the Colts they can die in an eternal Fire Aids tree.

**** you RAIDERS BRONCOS & COLTS

I may have to go back to the bar see if he is there. It would be justice to watch Chiefs pown the Colts. On the other hand....

and Berry put someone in the hospital.

..I don't think that's too much to ask.

I remember the '95 playoff game. I was only 9 and it was the first time I'd ever felt like I had just had my heart ripped out, then punched in the gut, followed up by a kick in the nuts. Worst feeling ever.

I went to the game in '03 hoping our powerful offense and a homefield advantage would be enough to turn the tide. When Priest broke the long run then proceeded to fumble, I knew it wasn't our day.

We need to stomp the Colts. For the next decade.

It's really a fair request.

However, just in case, I'm going to pen a lengthy and detailed letter to Eric Berry in which Berry's mother is the subject 100 "Yo Mamma so fat" jokes.
Then, I will sign it "Love, Peyton" and include a P.S. of "yo mamma so fat, her maiden name is Thanksgiving" before sending it to Mr. Berry.
..that outta do the trick.
