How do you feel now about Sanchez and Freeman at QB?

Suppose the Chiefs would have drafted either of these guys instead of aquiring Cassel. Would they have a better record right now? Are Sanchez or Freeman truly the type of "transcendent" QB talent to will a team to victory? They are probably better than Cassel, but "how much" better?

I'd rather have Freeman but would prefer someone else obviously. Sanchez is Cassel, only younger with college experience. Sanchez will never be a franchise QB. He doesn't have what Rodgers, Brady and Manning possess. Freeman, I'm not sure about yet. I don't think anyone is.

Sanchez isn't much better than Cassel. There is still time for him, though.

Freeman looks very good. I never gave him a thought back then.

Cassel didn't do anything last year that Sanchez couldn't. As far as I'm concerned, they're interchangeable, except Sanchez raises his game when it's win or die.

You're side-stepping the argument. And I would say that the idea that Sanchez was a better QB in 2009 or 2010 is debatable at best. But I can work with that. I'll concede that Sanchez is a slightly better QB, for the sake of discussion. Taking that as fact, please explain to me how that changes the outcome of anything from 2009? Does a slightly better quarterback turn a 4-12 team in 2009 into a playoff team? Does a slightly better quarterback turn that 30-7 Ravens rout last year into a Chiefs victory?

That's what I'm saying. You're the one stuck on the direct Cassel to Sanchez comparison.

But if you want to get into that, fine. I don't like Cassel. At all. I'd actually rather have Sanchez. I just don't think the difference would really be all that much right now. Sanchez isn't anything special at this point. Maybe he will be eventually.

A slightly worse QB did so what are you getting at? Come up with an argument that makes just a little bit of sense.

So Sanchez would have had 27 touchdowns last year? The guy had 17 with the Jets last year. The Jets had a #4 WR that is better than our #2. There is no way we would have made it to the playoffs with Sanchez.

You saying that Sanchez can't hide behind the success of Charles and throw a 2 yard TD to Bowe in the corner of the end zone?

You guys act like Cassel accomplished something last year. The team around Cassel accomplished something last year. Cassel just took advantage to make himself look good.

I'm talking about 2009, not 2010. Does Sanchez as a rookie turn the 2009 Chiefs team into a playoff team *in 2009*? Does his presence on that team improve them - that year - from 4-12 to 9-7?

If he doesn't, then the Chiefs don't compete in or win the playoff games that the Jets did his rookie year.

He couldn't do it with Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards, so why would he do it with Bowe?

Sanchez was one of the worst QB's in the league against pressure last year and it isn't any better this year. Look at what that Ravens D did to him. But, I'm suuuuuure he would have turned the tide in the playoff game last year due to his super playoff mojo.

Have you watched him? He has average at best receivers yet he still manages to win with them.

I would agree with that, and maybe Sanchez has some of "it." Not as much as many thought, but at least some. Cassel has the polar opposite of "it."
