I'm under fire! Cover me! (Shooting outside our office.)

Our office overlooks the State Capitol, and there's a big ol' park in front of the Capitol. My offices faces west, but several of our folks face south and have a good view of the park.

A few minutes ago, they got a good view of a police chase. Some dude started shooting in the park and a whole slew of police cars descended on the area. One of my employees actually saw the guy while he was shooting and all the people were running. (And apparently there was a second guy? Maybe it was a duel.)

He was apparently quite incompetent because he didn't actually hit anybody.

2 men arrested in Civic Center Park shooting; no injuries reported

DENVER - Denver police have arrested two men after a shooting at Denver Civic Center Park that forced a lockdown at the State Capitol Building on Thursday afternoon.

No one was injured in the shooting, Denver Police said via Twitter.

The two suspects were arrested a few blocks from the park, police said.

Colfax Avenue was closed between Broadway and Lincoln by the police investigation.

Police recovered a .40-caliber handgun in an alley near Colfax and Grant, 7NEWS photojournalist Brad Bogott reported from the scene.

Gov. John Hickenlooper's spokesman, Eric Brown, said the State Capitol Building was locked down. There governor is away from the building, visiting the Denver Broncos training camp in Dove Valley, Brown added.

Colfax Avenue was closed in front of the Capitol as police collected evidence and put up yellow crime scene tape.

I take it, from the description, that the shooters were black men?

We'll soon find out, I guess.

They've now arrested three people: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...uries-reported

I suspect that it was a blood feud because someone shot someone's pa. Or more likely it's a drugs or gang thing.

If you look at the picture, it appears that they found an assault rifle on the scene:

My first thought when I read "some dude shooting in the park" was that it was some white guy pulling a Charles Whitman (UT Tower shooter) or a Muslim doing his part for the jihad, but when I saw that it was actually two guys and, importantly, the article failed to give a description, it seemed more likely to me that the perpetrators were black (although I guess a coordinated contribution to the jihad wasn't out of the question).
