Chase Daniel's assessment

He played behind Brees in the past. In the last two games, how was his performance compared to other three qbs? I notice that he is the short one in the bunch.

I'm just a KU fan. I only poke fun because I know the Daniels love on this board is strong.

He sucks. But to be fair, whoever said Todd Reesing is the same guy is wrong. Daniels is at least 1.5" taller.

Since Trent Green got hurt, it seems like we hear every year it can't get worse, and then it gets worse.

Daniels was brought to this team to help sell tickets and sell merchandise. Not many backups not named Tebow can do that....

If you want a good chuckle over this KU/MU thing; just go to the 150 years ago thread brewing in DC right now.

I'm a hardore Mizzou fan and 1. I'm not thrilled with Chase as the backup (I'd rather have him than Cassel though) 2.) I wouldn't touch gabbert with a 10 foot pole. He was never the same after Suh twisted his ankle. After that he lost any pocket presence he ever had.

i'll say this though Chase had 10 times the moxy gabbert ever did.

I'll defend MU fans here. I really haven't heard from any that are excited about Daniels.

He's pretty good when there's no one standing in front of him. But that rarely happens when you'r trying to throw the ball in the NFL. Could have signed him for half of what they did too. That's what makes most of us upset at the situation.

Full disclosure: Mizzou Fan.

I'm a little disappointed. He's had a pretty rough preseason. Not just the games, most of the reports from St. Joe said he wasn't playing well. He seemed to always play pretty well in the preseason for NO, so that's a little concerning.

I never believed he'd be a legitimate starter in the league. I really believed, though, that he had the potential to be a serviceable backup. A guy you could plug for 3-4 games and work around his limitations enough to pull out some W's.

In my opinion, he got too big of a contract. But hey...it's not my money.

$3.3 million is hefty for a backup, and that is a legitimate beef. But if we aren't near the cap and losing out on someone else because of it... I don't really care what Clark is doling out to individual players.

Pretty much this. He looked so good running the Saints offense in the past. Of course, this is all new stuff for everybody, not just him. It's not like he's getting rock solid protection on every play. But still, I wish he looked better. He's still got time.
