12 y/o with Leukemia needs help -- insurance won't cover treatment
I don't know if this is out of order for the Planet, but I'm posting it. It'd be nice if someone could Sticky it. If it's out of protocol, go ahead and delete. This isn't a hoax guys. I'm just trying to do what I can to help.
There is a 12-year-old boy from Warrensburg, MO (about 45 miles to the east of Kansas City) that was recently diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) -- his name is Nathan Crabtree. He had an allergic reaction to traditional treatments. The doctors' recourse was to use experimental forms of treatment. The problem: his insurance company will not cover experimental treatments. The Optimist Club of Warresnburg, as well as many area churches, other Optimist clubs, and organizations in the area are desperately trying to raise $300,000 to help this young man receive the treatments he needs. A link to digitalBURG's story: http://www.digitalburg.com/artman/pu...icle_854.shtml A link to Nathan's website: http://caringbridge.com/cb/inputSite...=nathan_thomas We'd like as much help as we can get. Following is information from the flyer being passed out. Quote:
