Computers Windows 8.1 and the internet

I have a HP Pavilion G6 laptop with Windows 8. Everything was working fine until it updated to 8.1. Now I have issues with the internet. About 1 out of 5 times when I click on a new webpage it doesn't connect and I get a webpage unavailable. If I refresh the page it comes right up. When I download podcasts (I use Mediamonkey) several of them don't download and things like my Kindle for PC don't always connect. All the other devices I have (Roku, Nexus 7, phone) don't have any issues with the internet.

From what I've gathered - I can't undo the update to 8.1. I'm not a tech savvy guy, but if anyone has any ideas of how I can fix this I'd appreciate it.
