Very different, and it would be a bit confusing if he needed 100 percent FiO2 (room air is 21 percent O2). You typically see increased O2 requirements with pulmonary or systemic issues.

30-50 percent fiO2 is a more typical initial setting

This is definitely more in BRC territory than mine.

Him only needing ventilator support for 50% of his breath could really indicate that they are beginning to win sedation.

A lot to digest, so I’m just trying to think out loud a little.

*****edit after reading about arresting twice and proning*****

Hearing that he arrested twice and they are proning him (positioning on his stomach) is a little concerning to hear.

Maybe they really are weaning the FIO2 and had him at 100 percent.
