If you wind up about 5 blocks in the wrong direction of the stadium, you are in the heart of The Wire. As bad a ghetto as any place I've seen.
If you stay anywhere near Inner Harbor and Stadium or Old Baltimore near Route 40, you are fine. Chaps Pit Beef is a must and Obrycki's Restaurant and Bar for crab cakes. If you need medical help, John Hopkins University Hospital is second to none.
