Anyone who doesn’t think the defense is concerning is either not paying attention or willfully refusing to acknowledge the problem. Maybe Omenihu and Uche are able to boost the pash rush significantly or maybe not. Aside from McDuffie the secondary isn’t good enough to cover even for another split second absent a pass rush. This is big problem. Spags deserves the benefit of the doubt, and perhaps he can get things fixed. But to me it seems that the issue is a lack of talent and ability and unlikely to be fixed. As a result the margin of error for this team is even thinner. Let’s hope that a healthy Pacheco/Hunt backfield along with possibly getting Hollywood back takes some pressure off the defense.
