I totally agree. At the same time, in 2013 we were smart enough to realize the solution to the QB hole wasn't available even though we had the no. 1 overall pick. Looking back, Alex Smith was probably the best available option.

We would have been worse off if we tried to force a solution because we needed a QB. This is where good personnel evaluation plus discipline pays off.
