Your opinion matters

I have learned that I have about 45 hours left of school. I am taking 7 this summer and 16 in the fall. I can graduate in the fall of 2009 with a Bachelors degree in history and a minor in criminal justice. I would also have a alternative certificate in education. With that certificate I'd still have to take 34 more hours to get a full teachers certificate. I would have to take those hours within 3 years after being a full time teacher.

I could take the 34 hours now and spend an extra year in school (5 1/2 years). If I did this I would be a full certified teacher and would know a lot more about what to expect and what to do when I start teaching. The only negative I see about this is the extra year in school, but it would be worth it.

What would you do? I'm pretty sure I'm going with option two, it would help me out in the long run.
