When I was walking in to work today, there was an area on our tourist mall where a significant number of policemen were milling around and one of the TV stations setting up a camera. Then I saw yellow 'police line - do not cross' tape up.

I wasn't sure what happened, but figured that someone had died based on the amount of activity. And sure enough, that was it: http://www.9news.com/news/article.as...8623&catid=339. I didn't see a body, though, so it must have already been taken away.

But anyway, the more interesting part was that they were starting to take down the yellow tape, so I saw my opportunity and went for it. Accelerating slightly to get past a pudgy middle-aged woman, I was the first person to pass through the 'crime scene'. Victory!

Is it wrong that that's a highlight of my day?
