Great Moments in Wonderlic History - 2005
They usually give the results with the defense first, starting with the DBs. In 2005, the CrimiNoles took the early lead, with Jerome Carter taking the DUMBEST Safety prize. Then the CrimiNoles struck again, taking DE with Eric Moore's lowest score of 9. The Gators chomped back into the fight with Jon Colon taking OT with a 12, or not quite statistically significant evidence of more intelligence than a parrot, which would theoretically score a 10 by answering "A" 50 times. With the score CrimiNoles 2, Gators 1, and Cokes 0, Miami was looking pretty desperate. But, with courage, dedication, and commitment, the Caines rallied...
TE: Kevin Everett - da "U" (12) ... and the crowd shouts "GO CAINES!!!!" WR: Roscoe Parrish - da "U" (10) ... and just like that the Cokes and CrimiNoles are tied RB: Frank Gore - da "U" (6) ... the delivery gets through, and the Cokes take the lead... crowd goes wild QB: Brock Berlin - da "U" (13) - footnote: UF transfer and the crowd just goes to freebase, as the co-Caines reel off FOUR IN A ROW to snatch the DUMBEST TEAM award from the CrimiNoles and Gators. Final Score Cokes 4 CrimiNoles 2 Gators 1+ (partial credit for Brock Berlin) After the game, Bobby BowDUHn was asked about the disappointment of losing to the Cokes yet again. "Gosh darn it. I can not believe we lost. I'll give the Cokes credit, they were dumber than we were this year. However, I think we have an excellent shot at taking the title back next year" |
