When teams don't want to get deep, they generally drop 3 or 4 DBs into a deep zone, giving up the underneath routes. As long as you don't force it deep into that zone, you gets gobs of yards and no picks, which is why the phrase "The Prevent defense prevents you from winning" comes from.
