Tips are for doing a good job not just doing the bare minimum in my opinion and I was a server in high school and college for 7 years. I have never understood these servers that exepct a customer to just give them a tip if they do just enough to get by.

I think you are just forecasting how you are. Not the fact the mom also left a note at the bottom on the service.
