I would take a Superbowl ass kicking over a 20 year playoff drought.

Reid better take us on a deep playoff run next year.

Really? The plucky Chargers team getting beat by the salary cap cheating Pro Bowl 49ers was more satisfying than having Manning poop his pants in a NYC SB?
I don't know what you have against the Chargers but you obviously need counseling...

You should think about that... A SB loss isn't pleasant, (I'm still getting over it 18 years later).

in fairness, the Raiders loss in SB XXXVII had a lot to do with who was coaching the Bucs in that game. It was practically per-ordained as soon as the matchup became official that the Raiders would lose.

Today's loss by Denver however, is not as easily glossed over. This game seemed to be a much better contest, at least on paper. Seattle had no such advantage to work with, and as it happens, they didn't need it anyways. Denver absolutely crapped their pants on this biggest stage possible, and it couldn't have happened to a bigger bunch of turds.

You mean that godly God of coaching Jon Gruden, with his legendary 57-55 mark in Tampa Bay? I say it was preordained because of who was coaching the Raiders. I mean, Bill Callahan tore down two of the traditional powers of football during his head coaching career.

I think I'm leaning Denver.

The Broncos just wasted the best season a QB has ever had by getting ****ing wasted in the big game.

That's really, really ****ing sad.

I mean the Raiders were good....but not as good as Denver, and facing an opponent they probably had no chance against given the nature of their offense.

The Broncos are not 35 points worse than that Seattle team. I bet if they played 10 times, they'd split.

Embarrassing.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

The Crypt Keeper had a coach bail on his team, only to take over a long-cursed franchise and beat them down in the Superbowl partly because they didn't change a lot of their terminology from Chuckie's time in Oakland.

That has to mean something.

**** yeah, I'm a cHargers fan.

When you lose in first round of the playoffs it doesn't hurt your image. (Although the Chiefs are looking pretty silly at this point). The team is expected to move on and improve.

A SB loss is an embarrassment that lasts in the NFL annals forever. It doesn't matter if the PRO BOWL team you played (49res) were caught cheating the salary cap and were penalized a 3rd rd draft pick for buying a SB. Nobody knows about that, and nor do they care.

When you lose 4 SBs you can't recover. They should send the Bills and Broncos to the CFL because they're the only 2 teams to lose 4 SBs.

I can go into more detail but I would imagine you're asleep by now.

I have to echo this sentiment.

.. And the good news is: Peyton won't be nearly as good next season. It's just so hard to string together successive seasons at such a high level- at any position.

Tom Brady had that crazy season with 50 TDs and has never thrown for over 40 TDs in any other. Peyton had 49 TDs back in the day and obviously just had this incredible season, but has never thrown for over 40 TDs other than these two seasons.

We can beat these soft ass pussies if we get our heads out of our ass.
