A really good mom & pop burger place is on US 40 highway in Independence, about three miles East of Arrowhead. It's called "Big Boy Burger." It's not the same chain as Hi-Boy, but both are similar. Big Boy is family owned like Hi-Boy, both have great huge burgers and onion rings, and great shakes and ice cream.
