Hard not to agree with this rating. Although I could care less about the loss of Tyson Jackson. Not too broken up about the loss of Albert either. When he is healthy and in playing shape, he is a very good LT. That seemed to rarely happen. The loss(es) at guard will sting. Schwartz played well and I didn't believe Asamoah to be as bad as some here thought. Would have loved to see KC bring one of them back in. McCluster made a lot of big plays last year, and won't be as easy to replace as some think IMO. He became Smith's go-to on 3rd downs and had a nice season as a punt returner. A good locker-room guy as well from all accounts. With a lack of threats on offense already, it was tough to see him walk. DeSean Jackson or Emmanuel Sanders would have replaced Dex with ease...but did not happen.

I still believe there are some quality FA's left to be had. It would be interesting to see what a KC offense would like if a Miles Austin or Sidney Rice and Jermichael Finley (question marks I know) were added before the draft.

You also have to wonder why no contracts were or have been restructured to provide more cap room. Were the players even asked to shift some money around? Are they unwilling to help given the past few years? Interesting to say the least.

It's not just the talent drain that is concerning. It's that they're apparently relying entirely on the draft and bottom barrel free agents to fill those spots.

It's hard to imagine 2014 upgrades at all of those spots that needed upgrades relying on that formula.

Agreed. I know they had some success last year with scrap heap guys like Sean McGrath, Ron Parker, Geoff Schwartz, Q Demps etc. They also had some crafty moves that paid off like Hussain Abdullah. To rely upon that to happen every year or even this year will be tough.

Vance Walker was a solid pickup. I don't mind the depth signing of Chris Owens either. Maybe Dressler is that "crafty move" this year? Too many question marks though in my opinion.

Edit: I guess you can assume Dorsey/Reid are relying on guys like Travis Kelce, Sanders Commings, AJ Jenkins, Marcus Cooper, Mike Catapano, Nico Johnson, Rishaw Johnson, and Eric Kush to take gigantic steps this coming season.
