maybe you didn't see the stat where Victor Martinez has struck out 39 times all year...let's not even mention his .975 OPS

so

runners on 2nd and 3rd...pitching a 3-1 count to a guy who doesn't strike out

what's the best case scenario? He grounds out to 2nd base and a run scores?

he pops out? Hm, seems pretty un****ing likely with this guy.

Or...you do the smart move, put him on 1st, and start a new count with a less accomplished ML hitter where the best defense in baseball now has a chance to get a DP and get out of the inning without any damage.

This is baseball 101. 101. It's not even baseball 102.
