I might get some flack for this, but oh well. I have only walked out of one movie and that movie was The Illustionist. I gave it about 30-40 minutes and I was done with it

Reloaded was good overall with some pretty sweet scenes. Revolutions deserved to be walked out of.

Dunno if I actually walked out [not big on walking out, heck I watched Legal Eagles twice in two days because I liked the people I went to the theater with each time], and I generally either vet movies before I see them, or go to movies with friends so it doesn't really matter how good or bad the movie is. But instances of my strong URGE to walk out I can remember was;

Tango and Cash

That shitty sequel to The Crow with ADA Robinette.

ha that made me laugh out loud!! while not matrix for me, the only movie I fell asleep at was johnny pneumonic (sp?). I was in h.s. and a buddy and me drove up to kc to watch it. man, that was turrrible.

Was with a group of people, mostly girls I wanted to put my penis in, that wanted to see it. Didn't even make it past the opening credits (opened with some We Will Rock You shitty take). Walked out and sat in on the rest of Joe Dirt til the movie ended.

Just looked at the box office take...how the hell did that movie make $56mil?

I knew it was going to be awful, but sometimes you must make sacrifices. On this occasion, I was unwilling to wait out such a terrible movie. Looks like a bunch of other people we willing to wait it out.

Not necessarily. You bought your ticket; they bought theirs; countless others bought theirs. Not a single one of you necessarily stayed at the theater or even saw more than 5 minutes of it before walking out, and the numbers still count.

Cuz it was awesome...seriously, not one I would consider so bad as to walk out on it. You probably should have stayed a little longer.

I don't really remember. I know my mom wasn't there. She had to come get me. I think my brother (9years older than me) wanted to see it and o wanted to do everything he did. I was there with somebody, I just don't remember who.

EDIT: I vaguely remember seeing batman in the theater before that so my parents probably thought it was OK.

It's all pretty hazy. I was a dumbass child. My mother is a saint for not killing me out of rage and burying me in a ditch somewhere.

Jupiter Ascending' Debuts to Muted Crowd at Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival isn’t a typical launchpad for studio blockbusters, but Warner Bros. surprised theater-goers on Tuesday night by unveiling the Wachowski siblings’ Jupiter Ascending at a “secret screening.

The invitation-only event, which was not billed as a premiere, was the first time Jupiter Ascending was shown to the public. Variety broke news of the screening on Tuesday afternoon, but there were other clues the audience wasn’t about to see a typical Sundance indie.

When attendees with tickets arrived at the Egyptian Theater in Park City, they were handed 3D glasses.

Despite the hype of a secret screening, clusters of seats inside the 300-person venue remained empty, and a handful of patrons walked out of the two-hour-plus space epic starring Mila Kunis as a princess and Channing Tatum as an intergalactic soldier tasked with rescuing her.

The Wachowskis’ flair was fully on display, with sequences reminiscent of The Matrix or Star Wars. But when the film ended, the usually gracious Sundance audience didn’t clap at the closing credits.

“I hated it,” said one of the festival’s volunteers, who asked not to be identified for fear of irking Sundance. “It’s just ridiculous.”

Her husband was more forgiving. “It’s a combination of a whole bunch of things wrapped into one,” he said.

Neville Kiser, a screenwriter, thought the movie was hurt by the fact that it was debuting at a venue for highbrow films. “I actually liked it,” Kiser said. “But the Sundance context is weird. There were so many people in the audience scoffing and sneering. They are forgetting they are watching a movie targeted primarily to teenage boys. I’m sure those 15-year-old boys, and hopefully girls, will like it.”

The film’s co-directors and stars were not in attendance. One industry expert speculated that the discombobulated story would mean that Warner Bros., which spent $175 million on the film, would lose a significant chunk of money.

Jupiter Ascending was originally scheduled for a summer release, which was later postponed. The movie now opens on Feb. 6
