Can you explain to me why the **** that matters? He got 31 million dollars to sign the contract. The only possible way he'll only make 31 million dollars is if he's cut after 2015 for any reason sans injury. How does this not compute to you ****ing dipshits?

I'm asking because if he get's that money this year, then wouldn't that make this a 5 yr deal, if he's getting new money during the supposed final year of his current contract? Am I understanding this correctly? I understand it's bonus money, not salary, but the signing bonus would be in the contract. |

This is all in guarantees:
If Wilson gets cut after this year, he makes 31.7M. If Wilson is on the team on May 10th in 2016, he makes 44M. If Wilson is on the team on May 10th in 2017, he makes 57M After that, they probably renegotiate. It's really THAT simple. |

I'm to lazy to go back and look, but I recall this silly argument started with it being either a 4 yr extension or a 5 yr deal.
So, if he's getting the signing bonus this year, then it's a new 5 yr deal. Correct? Which all that does is bring down the yearly average of the deal. And of course, has nothing to do with his guaranteed money. I'm just trying to understand contract language. |

The argument is ... Dane can't be wrong, so he tried to manipulate statements and now he's talking about yearly tax returns rather than admit he's wrong about anything. It's God damn embarrassing

![]() Yeah, and I'm also the guy that said he'll get $31 million this year, which is untrue. ![]() http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/...n-year-by-year Wilson's $31 million in true guaranteed money at signing is well below many top quarterback deals. His $56.6 million over the first three years of the deal is well below the $67 million Cam Newton received or the $65 million Ben Roethlisberger got. |

How can it average 22 million when over that time (4 years) there are two years in the 18 millions one at 21.7 and one at less than 24? |

-- “New money” has become one of the great fictions in the assessment of NFL contracts. But, you know, when in Rome. For Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, the headline is that he signed a four-year, $87.6 million extension, with a new-money average of $21.9 million. The truth is that the last year of his current contract, at a base salary of $1.542 million, has been ripped up and replaced with a new five-year, $89.1 million deal. But since the average of the total five-year deal is $17.8 million, it won’t be characterized that way when it comes to deciding whose is bigger. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...gin-to-emerge/ |
