Find the QB so you don't have to rebuild after every failed retread. Get that position set and you only have to keep reloading.

You can't throw a n00b QB on a shit team. You just ruin almost all of them. Or you play in a tire fire of a division like Luck.

Throw some resources at the running game (OL) and have a top third D, or you are basically guaranteeing your guy will wash out. Berry and Howard could be gotten cheap, I think you have to do it.
