I don't know how to explain it, but I perversely enjoy maintaining a level of magical naivete when it comes to baseball. There's something about, even if you know all the players and their idiosyncrasies inside and out, sitting there and thinking 'maybe this time the pitcher will hit a home run!!' Look at all the foolishness in the Jays Ranger's final game. That was bananas and nothing preceded it to clue you into how bananas it was going to get and how fast. I don't like everything about baseball, but what I like is that, and analyzing it is like trying to write a mathematical formula for a great guitar solo.
