His 98.9 fourth-quarter QBR leads all Power 5 quarterbacks.

In the red zone, Boykin is 29 of 41 for 246 yards, including 16 touchdown passes without an interception. He’s added 15 carries for 78 yards and five touchdowns. His 96.5 QBR in the red zone is third among Power 5 quarterbacks.

On third-down plays, Boykin is 35 of 59 for 560 yards, with four touchdown passes, one interception, 9.49 yards per attempt and 9.22 yards per dropback. He’s added 26 carries for 131 yards, (5.0 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. Only Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes (97.8) has a better QBR on third down among Power 5 quarterbacks.

Boykin is better than RG3. He actually reads defenses. He has better numbers. He doesn't get hurt.

Everything I've read about this kid is that he ran the no huddle spread offense in college without making reads or progressions and Patterson brought that to TCU to make him more comfortable.

He's not being prepared to play in the NFL.

Patterson brought the spread in so TCU could compete in the Big 12.

Boykin struggled when we had a dogshit OC that was stuck in the 80's. He ran a spread offense in high school so when we moved to the spread offense he flourished.

Boykin audibles and checks out of called plays based on his reads. He did a lot less of that last year due to it being a new offense. This year he knows the playbook front to back and has the freedom to check out of things that aren't going to work. He also does progressions really well.
