I don't get some of this talk about finances either when it comes to professional athletes. Gordon has just fulfilled about a $40M dollar deal, he's very wealthy. He'd be financially OK if his career ended tomorrow, and particularly if he makes just his current rate for the rest of his career. Being old fashioned I guess, loyalty to an organization and a city isn't what it's about when there is more money than you can spend X 10 at stake.

I love it when people talk about how other people should be loyal to their employers and leave millions of dollars on the table.

If I get a job offer tomorrow for $30,000 more than what I'm making now, I'm going to have a very serious conversation with my current employer...one that will end in me leaving if I don't get a raise. Alex could be looking at a $30,000,000 difference over the course of the next contract.
