Minus the screaming, Dane is right... His style of play puts Charles for eventual injury with his high volume of snaps and the type of stress he puts on his body.

RB's can be replaced. It's no guarantee and it's not automatic, but West and Ware are good examples. Even your example of Davis makes the argument stronger. He isn't that good and even he was very productive for a while. You can work productivity out of RB's, you can't do that at a lot of other positions. If we can free up a bit of cap flexibility, now and in the future, along with gaining an asset, I believe you do it most times with a RB. Now to Charles defense, his contract is very team friendly and I am not as afraid of his injuries as most. Still, I very much believe you let others pay for RB, and in the end you benefit from it. You don't know what would have happened. The original comment was that Charles would have had the same season in NE. You don't know that he was going to be injured that same year, let alone that same part of the season. He could have been injuried earlier, later, or not at all. Whether his style leads to more injuries is a different argument entirely. |

This is a basic concept. I'm shocked anyone has a hard time understanding it. |
