Well I had a life or death experience this AM

At least it felt like one! As some of you might already know I own an armored car service, and I drive one of the trucks myself. Had a co-worker/employee call in sick today (always 2 guys on a truck) and I just so happened to be using our oldest truck which is now just a backup.

To make a long story short, I went to the back of the truck (closed off from the front) to get some change, when I realized the boxes had slid up towards the front. So, I climb into the truck to grab it and the door shuts. No big deal right, I can just open it from the inside? Wrong. Like I said this is our oldest truck and I just found out the hard way that you can't get out from the inside. Another problem is my phone was in the front of the truck which I didn't have access to. So there I was locked inside in the pitch black wth no phone, no AC (I live in Key West where it's really ****ing hot!!). I had to bang on the door till somebody finally heard me and I told them to call the police/fire department to get me out.

I waited all together about an hour and a half till they finally broke into the front of the truck to get the key out of the ignition and let me out the back. This was difficult and something I wasn't even sure they could pull off so (relatively) fast with this being an armored vehicle.

If I would've been at one of my stops where there isn't a lot of people walking by, I could've easily cooked in there all day.

Hey, me too.

Just 15 minutes ago i was making a left turn at a green arrow when a flatbed tow truck came barreling through at full speed past a red light. Had i not been paying attention and had advanced another 10-15 feet, i'd be posting from the ambulance right now....

Being slow roasted in the back of a truck in July in Florida doesn't sound like a fun way to check out. Make sure those procedures include this never happening again.

I wonder what the reception is like inside a sealed armored car. It may not have mattered.
