Make ChiefsPlanet great again!

Figured I'd get this discussion going sooner than later. Here's your thread to suggest ways to make this place great. This can be anything from new capabilities (though no promises on making anything work), new ways of organizing things, whatever.

As examples, I think we need to figure out a way to meet the desires of people who want calm, in-depth discussion of the Chiefs and people who love a no-holds-barred, in-your-face style.

I also keep thinking about ways to have more unique content, kind of like gblowfish's 10 Things threads. Maybe we could have people write regular features or something like that?

I certainly don't have the answers, but we might as well use the offseason to talk about some cool ideas.

Search for the word "exclude" if you still can't find it.
It still doesn't really work though. While it excludes the DC forum from my home page, I can still find it when I click on the Forums tab up top.

I have other suggestions:

1. Subscribers
a. I know this was discussed years ago but maybe have a subscriber service where they get a separate forum
b. Subscribers also get "Premium" Features for example say rep. Not a subscriber you don't get rep etc..
c. Also would help with server costs

2. Vastly Improved Game Day experience
a. On Game Day stop user registrations and turn off anonymous viewing
b. I like Game Threads but they slow the server down so maybe don't allow GDT's and force everyone to use chat.

3. Offseason mode: I know other boards do this but in the offseason any topic is allowed in the main forum.

I would actually get rid of rep entirely.

It just encourages people to be nasty in private with no consequences.

Or keep it, but remove the comments.

I hear what you're saying about the trolls, but doesn't a special place for those with a specific join date defeat the purpose of this board? "This forum is fast and furious with all variety of topics being discussed. Newbies welcomed."

I don't know.. I see it as just another sub forum like Media Center\DC etc but only those who have been here a long time can view and post in it or not. It is up to them. There is alot of older posters that have left because they don't like all the cussing and personal attacks. This would allow them to come back and interact.

I have a hard time with all the personal attacks, too, but if they only want to interact with other old posters, what value does that bring the board? I've been a Chiefs fan as long as anyone here but I'm a relative noob to the board.
I'd say to invite everyone, sans one methhead from St. Louis, back, keep the trolling and personal attacks to a minimum and let's roll.
