Watch someone doing it for a few minutes and suddenly it'll all make sense. It's a behavior that should be illegal, perhaps even a felony.

For a while I got real passive-aggressive about it. I'd hang out in the kitchen on the sixth floor until the exact minute I was supposed to come in and relieve him, so that he'd be there a few extra minutes past his shift explaining everything to me.

That wasn't fair to him, though, so I stopped doing that. Now I'm just honest with him about it, and tell him to slow down or at least say good afternoon/morning first. He's getting better about it, but I still have to give him the look sometimes.

I'm the same way, but I'm more blunt. I guess I could be a little more professional, but being an employee of the oilfields it's a common characteristic.

Don't ever be passive aggressive because in essence what passive aggressive is, is being a cowardly back stabber. Being to afraid to be upfront and honest and yet being angry enough to take it out on them when really who you are angry with more is yourself for not standing up for yourself.
