I know facts *rarely* bother you, but Belichick's actually went 11-5 his second-to-last year in Cleveland, went to the playoffs, and beat Bill Parcells' Patriots team. As such, he is the last Cleveland Browns head coach to win a playoff game. His last season went to hell when Modell announced he was moving after like the third game of the season.

Well, yes, to a very large degree. Montana in the third round was also dumb fugging luck.

Bledsoe injury was just Bill getting lucky. The tuck rule was Bill getting lucky. Video tape, play sheet and play book stealing did enough in the early years when Brady was ordinary to keep the game close so they could win with FG's.

Again, I know facts don't bother you at all.

Without Brady he will go down in flames. Players won't bend over to come there taking less money and nobody will stay around for less money.

Belichick still did MORE with Brady than Shula ever achieved with Marino, or Walsh with Montana, or, well, any head coach in the Super Bowl era has ever done with anyone. And the Patriots over the last 16 years have smashed every record for winning there is, all in an era where it is much harder to keep your good players.
