Small things in life that gravel your ass

What are some things in life that are really not that big of a deal in the big picture, but just piss you off?

My example of the day:

The dogs were barking at something today out in the alley, so I went outside to find out what the hell was going on. Some Slippery Larry contractor was back there unloading a bunch of shit into my city garbage container.

Me: Hey there strokestick, are you my new neighbor or something?

Slippery Larry: No

Me: Yeah, I knew that, then why are you dumping your crap out into my garbage container? I have plans to clean out the garage and am going to need the space.

Slippery Larry: I don't know.

Me: Do you live in a house, do YOU have a garbage container?

Slippery Larry: Yes, but it's full, so I'm dumping it in here.

Me: No, no you're not, try the city dump. Don't let me ever catch you back here pulling the bullshit again, or we are going to have a big problem.

At that point, he high tailed it out of there.

Like I said, it wasn't like the guy was back there trying to break into my shop, but it rubbed me the wrong way.

Wow. I guess that's better than the worst case outcome, Inmem, but it's still painful to hear.

I've never really thought about it, but I bet the building had insurance on top of the insurance that renters have. If I owned an apartment building, I'd darn sure have insurance as a backup in case one of my renters didn't have it. So I wonder if your payment is really just covering their deductible or something.

Having said that, I have no idea what I'm talking about on this stuff.

I think it's a small thing because it caused me no harm, but I was in a restaurant today and two people brought dogs in. Both times the owner said, "Hey, dogs aren't allowed", and both people said, "It's a service dog." The owner then said, "there's no service dog coat" and they said, "I didn't bring it." One of the dogs was a little Yorkie who hung out inside a backpack and other one was some mid-sized houndish thing that was out of control trying to jump on people. There is zero chance that the second one was a service dog and less than 25 percent that the Yorkie was.

Last Saturday in the park, I was running on the trail and one of the Rangers pulled up to a woman near me and very politely said, "Ma'am, your dog is required to be on a leash in the park." As I ran by, I heard the woman say, "I'm just finishing up and going to my car." The Ranger then reiterated his polite request. Hey, dimwit, it's not an option. It's a rule so your sweet little mutt won't go out of control and attack someone, which has happened to me more than once on my runs.

When did dog owners become loathsome, selfish, self-centered, inconsiderate, lying pieces of human excrement? I always thought that dog owners were cool, but in the modern world they've apparently become loathsome, selfish, self-centered, inconsiderate, lying pieces of human excrement.

Dogs are really cool. I like dogs when they're not attacking me. It's the loathsome beasts who are following them around that I can't stand.

People who drive and smoke with their windows down and throw their cigarette butt out the window. Disgusting pigs. I believe if you want to smoke you should have to do it with your windows up and use an ashtray.

They were probably loathsome, selfish, self-centered, inconsiderate, lying pieces of human excrement to begin with. The dogs are incidental.

I saw a lady at a stop sign when it was 30 degrees out with her window cracked and her hand sticking out holding a cigarette, then I had to follow her down the road like that. She would pull it in and take a drag then back out the window it went. She even pulled into the head start with her hand out the window.

Can you report someone for littering if they throw their cigarette out the window (license plate number)? I was on a two lane road with just brush on both sides the other morning, much of the brush being VERY dry here, and some dumbass throws their butt out the window. Who in their right mind didn't understand any fire danger at that point?!?!

It seems like you'd want to do it with the windows up. Isn't the whole purpose of smoking to inhale smoke? They're just wasting smoke when they let it go out the window.

Agreed. I was driving behind them and totally had their license number. Wasn't sure if I reported it, if anything would actually be done.

Yes, it ****ed us. We had it, but it lapsed and we were sure we were never notified, but proving that in court is a different story. It's not worth spending 10k on a lawyer when we would just lose.

It was either settling with them or be on a tight budget for the next 5 years. They pretty much take as much as they can from your disposable income. I hate stressing over money so 20k was worth it.

I don't care if people smoke but when they decide any place but their yard is an ashtray you deserve a hot steamy load of shit on the drivers seat of your car in return. I mean, what the hell, it's just a natural human function on your investment as opposed to a cancer stick with your saliva on the end from sucking it. Not gross at all.

In a world of bad outcomes, that's probably the best you could have gotten.
