Hunt's vision IS his strength but he is still getting used to the speed of the NFL game. Every game in the trenches for the o-line has a particular rhythm and tempo that the RB has to accurately read and feel so that both back and o-line are in sync.

All this.

He's still a rookie. His vision is good. His balance is excellent. He finishes runs like a pro.

That said he's going to have to adjust to a significantly higher level of competition. That doesn't happen overnight

It will, I think he'll be a very good HB for us, but it will take time...

It hurts our depth, but I think we'll be okay. Hunt was going to take the job at some point, now he gets to day one. Some of the best RBs in the league today didn't get their chance until injuries to starters. Maybe Hunt will be that type of player too.

Also, I challenge anyone to name a RB that hasn't been serviceable since Reid got here. Even Knile Davis had games where we thought he was pretty damn good in '13 and '14.

You are correct but physicality I am not worried about and it is just a matter of time before he truly understands what to look for in picking up the blitz thus making the right blocking calls in protecting the QB. EB has this !!

That is correct. If he's going to be out for the first 6 weeks, they can stick him on IR and bring him back after week 6. The league is going to allow to bring back 2 players on IR this year. However, if he is only going to miss 2-3 weeks, then the team may just keep him on the roster and have him inactive until he's ready.
