I don't have an issue with Houston. The point is, our biggest regression is that we aren't putting pressure. When we don't put pressure, our corners can't ball hawk. And it makes their jobs that much harder. Our regression in the secondary has a lot more to do with how much our pass rush has fallen off. Don't think many would blame our pass rush problems, on the other hand, on our corners. The pass rush is the symptom much more than the secondary.

Jones, Bailey, and Ford are regressing because they've been totally ineffective at getting push. Maybe some of that is scheme. But that is their own issue. A ton of any issues in our secondary can be blamed on another unit. For example, I don't think Mitchell has been terrible (apart from the deep ball) given how much is asked of him.

Not a good enough excuse for his drop off in play. There's more to being a CB in the NFL than ballhawking. If he wants to actually hone his craft and become a complete NFL caliber CB, then you keep him after 4 years. If he wants to continue to throw temper tantrums on the sidelines and in the games, and make "business decisions" when its time to tackle, then he can play out his rookie deal and **** right off.

My point is is that other than tackling, the drop-off in his play is hugely exaggerated. He needs an attitude adjustment and I'm glad he was suspended. But put any of the top 30 corners in the situation with our pass rush and tell me how most CBs would do. Especially on a cb whose strength is taking advantage of qb mistakes. What qb is going to make mistakes when they have more than 5 seconds, can go through all the reads, and throws out of a clean pocket not under duress? It's a huge factor in peters' regression in play and considering he's still a very good coverage guy despite that, so I don't at all buy that he's loafing out there. In coverage he's still competitive as hell.
