I'm not on board with the thinking we'll miss the playoffs next season.

Trading Smith, and cutting some dead weight on defense will leave us with some room to be fairly active in FA.

Assuming Mahomes is half as good as we all hope he's going to be, we should be right there competing for the AFC West championship next season.

I'm trying to stay optimistic over here.

Patrick is a killer and will overcome any deficiency on this team, EOS. That's why he was traded up for and sat a year to learn and that's what we've been sold.

Since all of the past failures are Smiff's fault, its makes sense that changing that one thing = playoffs at least if not championship.

There can be no excuses next year!
