There are many guys (James Bettcher, Steve Spagnuolo to name a few) that don't know their fate.

Reid might be waiting it out.

I actually think this is true. The Chiefs keeping the wagons circled and little to no outside command, at least leaves open the possibility that they're just waiting for somebody from one of the remaining teams.

Then again, I'm a hopeless optimistic. Ha...

Gosh I hope this is true.

I cannot fathom how a team that was near the bottom of the league statistically in almost every defensive category except for PPG can accept status quo. The eye test is an “eyesore”: flawed alignments, poor block shedding, poor tackling, bad pursuit angles, poor run fits, baffling 3rd down playcalls - anyone with a lick of football knowledge can see plain as day that this unit has relied on turnovers for any relevant success. That is a dangerous approach to take.

If Shurmur goes to NY, I think he will keep Spags as his DC.

The wildcard for KC if in fact there is a shred of hope they make a move at DC lies with Bettcher. 3-4 guy who has had a lot of recent success in Arizona with a solid roster. If Wilks gets the HC gig in Arizona, he will bring in the 4-3 and likely his own staff.

I think it is Bettcher or Spags if a move exists for the Chiefs. Some are talking Adam Zimmer but I think he is a stretch - no coordinating/playcalling experience.

Unless Gibbs was promoted to co-coordinator. You could then slide Valai to assistant LBs coach.
