You had to make a decision on the fifth year option this season. Which means you have to extend peters this year. If he’s not in your future plans - by his own desire or because of the huge cap hit for a player who adds nothing on running downs, then you have to trade him and do it now.

People calling him a scumbag or anything else are just dipshits who don’t like black players protesting the anthem. Peters is great, but this is a smart move.

I understand the emotion of all of this. I'm dealing with it to, but this move is all about Mahomes. The Chiefs realize they are not going to be Super Bowl contenders in 2018 with Mahomes being a first year QB. So you look ahead and try to extend your window and move a player you don't think you can/could keep, and in return you add more young drafted talent to the team that.
