In an interview while he was still announcing, he said if he had to pick one player to build around, it would be Mahomes. That was before Mahomes even played in the NFL. With the Faids draft stock, he can attempt to get his own version of Mahomes. He is not stupid, and he's been watching Reid and the Chiefs all along. We are going to have a great rivalry with these guys for many years.

Problem is Mahomes’ talent only comes along once a decade. Last one before Mahomes was Rodgers in 2005. Gruden ain’t gonna find that talent in the next few draft classes. But at least he can start over instead of dealing with damaged goods in Derek Carr.
