Right, but even 17-17 isn't really what I'd call a defensive game if you are looking at the NFL historically. Good defensive game by 2018 standards? Sure. But if that game happened in the 90s, we would be wondering what the hell happened. (And randomly throwing out a quarter to fit the narrative is an odd way to make the argument. Defense counts in the 4th quarter too.)

You’re right. The Patriots first TD in the 4th qtr was set up by their defense forcing a fumble. Anyone who watched that entire game and doesn’t think that was a well played defensive game should seriously consider switching over to soccer or some equally shitty sport.
