RGIII was kneecapped Luck had the shoulder rehab from hell, and may still round out with time and a better squad around him. Watson was tossing up wounded ducks that Hopkins kept pulling out of the fire on the back end until his leg exploded. Three fast starters hobbled by injury, and Watson returning to the mean for his risky tendencies. Dak was never anything more than the continuation of Romo's late good fortune of an overpowering O-line giving him all the time in the world. Who else was supposed to take the world by storm, but didn't without explanation? Rogers has provided plenty of fireworks, when he's not hampered by injury [sensing a trend]. Winston has great weapons, but is realiably a knucklehead. Maybe Cam, . . . he's got one SB trip already under his belt, and they're regaining their stride. Part of our Mahomes joy needs to come with a constant realization of how rare it is. Mahomes ceiling is his health. That is IT. Mahomes, in one sense, plays like the position should be played. Your rational mind says 'they pay these guys millions, you'd think they could all be as aware, poised, strong and accurate as Patty-boy.' But the reality is much more messy. Brady misses tons of open passes. Rapist goes into extended funks with regularity. They bounce back, but they aren't consistently on point like Mahomes is displaying, even in his early career. Mahomes has the potential to be a Jordan/Gretzky type, if he stays healthy. That doesn't come along often. It may not have come around yet in the NFL. |
