LC's is still pretty good; inconsistent but lower ceiling, but higher floor. The Mitch Trubisky of KC BBQ. LOL.
Joe's is very consistent across the board. Sad, but it's probably true that it's overall the best these days.
I usually grab Gates to go from the aforementioned spot when I want BBQ because I live nearby.

Ham on bun combo, side of BB. Great lunch. And some of the spicy sauce for dipping the fries.

Last time I was in KC was 2013. Been a long time. But I got a bunch of grub from the Gates on 40 Hwy and watched the Chiefs/Browns game at my sisters house. Alex Smiff Era. Must have hit it just right, ribs were AWESOME that day.
