Who's expendable from the likely 53 man roster?

The draft is over.

So now have a better idea of what the 2019 Chiefs will look like, let's see who's on the roster that COULD be spun for other players or future picks.

Now the key to this exercise is that the player has to have real value. Reggie Ragland isn't going to fetch us anything.

So who do you got?

Daniel Sorensen - 29 years old, two years left on his deal at 3.6 million per.

Breeland Speaks - 23 years old, three years left on his rookie deal. Yeah I know he's more of a natural fit in the 4-3, but after looking at the draft, adding Clark and a couple other DEs, I don't see expanded playing time on the horizon. Probably our most desirable asset to move, but someone has to want him.

Tanoh Kpassagnon - 24 years old, same situation with Speaks if we are being honest. Two years left on his deal.

I’d be sweating if I were Carlos Hyde and Darrell Williams. Thompson and Williams both look like excellent pick ups.

So what if he's paid more than a scrub? I'd grant you he isn't starter material, but the guy just seems to be always around the ball and makes some timely plays. If he was hurting us, that'd be a different story, but he's not. You said yourself money's not the issue.

No his issue is he's playing out of position because Berry never came back. He's great in specific roles and we need the experience he provides. He can't be a free safety though. He doesn't even need to start.

Also it's kind of weird to say money isn't the issue and then say it's about what he is paid. That doesn't make sense. Why cut him? There is zero reason. Keep him and use him in certain sub packages and who gives a shit what his salary is, we're fine cap wise.

I could totally see Veach being able to pick up a 6th/7th round pick or a Charvarius Ward type for a guy like Justin Hamilton or Xavier Williams when cut down days come.

Chiefs are very deep on the DL now and can’t keep em all, but these guys belong on rosters.
