Throw out whatever ****ing stats you want, it’s a huge advantage.

It doesn't hurt, no question about it, but when you win inside and outside of the division at about the same clip...?

Easy games allow you to rest guys and use a standard game plan instead of showing the league the new stuff you are working on. It gives your team a little bit of a break when you face crappy teams 6+ times each season.

Combine that with the fact that you have an excellent team, it really helps.

The not showing new stuff is definitely possible. No need to come up with exotic game plans to beat mediocre teams.

The resting guys isn't a thing, I can promise you that. Belichick is sort of famous for not benching guys even when the game seems to be in hand. if you think players are getting extra rest because we're playing a mediocre team, I can promise you that isn't happening. Belichick treats EVERY game VERY seriously.

Meh, maybe. Let's face it -- outside of maybe the AFC North, it's not rare that a great team dominates a division for a long time. There aren't any equivalents of the old 80s NFC East. Who has consistently challenged the Packers since Rodgers showed up? Lions and BEars have sucked for the most part, and while the Vikes have had a good defense and had a couple good years, so did the Jets when they went to the AFCCG (beating the Pats along the way) in 2010.
