I got on there once and it was just as bad. It seemed like it was all retired people or stay at home soccer Moms complaining about their neighbors, the post office/UPS/Fedex etc. taking too long to deliver their mail, and the trials and tribulations of keeping their minivans clean.

Finally went with the buzzed haircut, #1 - 1/8" guard. Took me about 10 mins.

12 yr old grandson made himself scarce the rest of the day.

We’re very adaptable.

This works to our advantage when needing to form new habits to fit new circumstances. Check.

This can work to our disadvantage when the new circumstances return to the old. The likelihood that changes stick are lower if the forces that led us to the old habits return.

Here are some changes that have good chances of surviving.

1. New relationships. Lots of people met new neighbors or folks from their living area during quarantine. These won’t automatically become bffs, but it’s kinda hard to treat someone you met like you haven’t.

2. New skills. Whether it’s haircuts or cooking/baking or home repair/remodeling. Sometimes the barrier to acquiring skills has far less to do with training or knowledge and more to do with taking the first step. Lots of people took those steps and it’s hard to go backwards in some cases. Box cakes don’t taste quite as good after you see how easy it is to do without.

Tons of other things fit into the “will change for a while but then go back”

Those are popping up too. Phoenix New Times has an ongoing list of them.
