Manning had a great day

Only, because the Chiefs defense let him have a great day. Its 01/12/04 and Greg Robinson is still with the team.

How lame can you get?

This shows a lamentable lack of class.

Manning has been on fire the last couple of games and deserves respect, not this crybaby crap.

Shame on you.

No pressure, no coverage and almost perfect on 3rd downs. The defense had to stand up. It did not. Ryan Leaf would have had a good game yesterday.

Manning had a very similarly great day against the Broncos. In fact, his QB rating was higher againt Denver than it was yesterday against you guys.

I will never understand the "whining" insults and other flak that he gets. The dude is a terrific QB. He's at the top of his game right now.

I will make ONE prediction for the AFC Championship Game, however -- the Colts punter will get onto the field at least once, dammit!

Give props where it is due..Manning was "The Man". That was as loud as it's ever been at Arrowhead. We have flustered many great QB's in our house with our noise..Elway, Young etc... He handled the crrowd noise better than any quarterback I've seen come into Arrowhead. I saw why he was the co-MVP. Props are due his way. Just not as many because he was going against the worst defensive scheme in NFL history.

I forsee the Patriots losing next week. The colts offense is P-E-R-F-E-C-T. The Patriots don't have nearly as an effective offense as ours, and as their D might slow them down more than ours did, I don't think it will be nearly enough.

Look what Manning did against a decent defense. The Chiefs defense promoted Mannings efficiency. I'll stand with my initial thought on this one. .the Chiefs gave Manning the game

1) UNPREPARED-had no answers to Manning calling audibles
2) BAD COACHING-Mr. Robinson
3)BAD SCHEME- never changed the scheme durring the game, couldn't come up with one adjustment.

4)SHOWS THEIR BLOCKING SCHEMES AND BLITZING PATTERNS-players after three years still couldn't comprehend this defense.

5)ON FIELD COORDINATION COST A FEW PENELTIES -all coaching mistakes, if it happens once,ok,you made a mistake.Twice your a fool
6) 100 % OF THIS BLAME GOES TO THE HC and Defensive coordinator
7) scheme allows linemen to grasp defensive linemen and linebackers. they walk right into the hold, forcing large gaps, shifting linemen are easier to block,or even fight off a block.

Recipe to losing , with this ''''''chiefs team, We've seen it for years now.

Yeah but Belichick has been the one guy who's been able to do this stuff to Manning consistently. We obviously should've played better but NE has a wealth of defensive talent. They also have outstanding cover talent...Belichick is always raving about how this is the best group he's ever coached in coverage. Ty Law owned Harrison today, absolutely owned him. Give some props to those guys for that...

I'll agree with you completely.

I like Manning, but this crap about him being the "be all, and you'll be the end all" (beautiful violin in the BG for you old school thrax fans) and expecting the KC offense to be perfect and it being their fault we didn't win is utter BS.

Unlurking, I respect Manning and I do think he is a great QB. What he did last week in arrowhead shouldn't have happened. He beat up on a Pop Warner defense that cuoldn't adjust. All teams make adjustments at half time.Robinson was incapable to make any adjustments. He wasn't able to make adjustments all year. He made Rick Mirer look good against us.

Yeah, my son's hockey team lost to an all girl-team this year, which in a non-checking league I wouldn't usually have a problem with. Unfortunately, the all girl teams are not required to follow the USA Inline age standards, thus we had a teenage all-girl team against a team of 9 and 10 year old boys.

The Colts game was very reminiscent.

In another post today, you said you expected the Chiefs defense to play bad against Indy. Do you really believe that the Offense lost the game?

I have stated several times that I do not “blame” the Offense for the loss. They played their hearts out, along with Special Teams.

What I have said several times [pay attention now, because this is apparently the hard part] is that the Offense was our only chance to win the game, because by that time Robinson’s Defense was in total disarray. It would have required a mighty effort, because not only were the carrying a crappy Defense on their shoulders, but the Colts Offense was flawless. As it turned out, that was simply too heavy a burden. There is no “blame” on the Offense. Just acknowledgment that they came up a bit short and recognition of the mistakes [fumble, dropped pass, PI call, missed FG].

It is ridiculous to flog a crappy Defense for being a crappy Defense. The Colts were flawless that day and Manning [as I said in the post you quoted] was on fire. Just as the Colts Defense had no chance to stop the Chiefs Offense, the Chiefs Defense had no chance to stop the Colts Offense.

One more time [just in case you still don’t get it]:
The difference in the game was that the Colts Offense played a great game with no mistakes. The Chiefs Offense played a great game with a few mistakes. The Chiefs Special Teams gave us a chance to overcome that difference, but we came up short. The Chiefs Defense contributed nothing. The Colts Defense covered a Holmes fumble.

So you're saying that the defense is 100% responsible.

Got it.
