Which numbers should be unretired by the Chiefs

The most are the Bears with 14 the next is 49ers with 12 followed up by Giants with 11 which is for all intense of purposes tied with the Chiefs.
There are 5 teams that have 0 retired numbers including the Cowboys and Raiders. Those teams have some players that most would consider worthy.

Retiring numbers is for teams without a history of success. Eventually you run out of numbers if you have any reasonable amount of players worth retiring jerseys.

Chiefs have enough players that it is blocking far too many numbers, and that's just going to grow over time.

I think I would vote for making all numbers available again. As mentioned already, there are many different ways to memorialize those numbers.

Over time, it might be cool having a big display of outstanding players per jersey number. They have some cool stuff on display on the Chiefs side of the field. Having a big grid of jersey numbers with a listing of players underneath each would be sweet. They could bold, italicize, or put an asterisk by the more significant players. The truly great ones could get statues out front.

I would offer the location of my brick to be sacrificed. It would be a sweet spot for a DT statue, AND it would strike my ex-wife's name completely from the ledger. Win/Win in my book.

It’s conceivable—if unlikely—that the Chiefs could find themselves employing a player named Len Dawson someday in the future. At the same time, it’s inconceivable that they’d ever let anyone wear the number that the first Len Dawson wore. His name is reusable but his number isn’t. That’s a bit weird.
