He didn't specify all starters. I'm guessing that the starting offensive line plays the first half, but Henne replaces Mahomes in the first quarter. I don't expect to see my h of Kelce or Hill either.

Daurice Fountain is Ashley Lelie. He's Fred Williams.

He's a preseason 3rd string blowhard who we heard nothing about during training camp and it wasn't until the 3rd and 4th quarters of these preseason games that Chiefs fans started going ga-ga over him.

That's a recipe for getting cut. Coaches don't give a shit if you all of a sudden start balling out in preseason games if you're playing in the 4th quarter. You either demonstrated something to them on the practice field earlier or you're just going through the motions waiting to get cut at the end of the last preseason game.

Every team has a Daurice Fountain right now. On the bad rosters, those guys might make the team. On the good rosters, those guys rightfully get the ax.

And if he does make the team, ya'll better hope to God that he doesn't see the field that much, because if that's the case, it means our WRs are really freakin bad.

KC is better. But they are too. I don't think they closed the gap necessarily, but I DO expect the Browns to win that division and probably be the distant second best team in the AFC. I think The Bills are relying far to heavily on two rookie DE's with big question marks.
Clowney is garbage

I was focusing specifically on the pass defense, and more specifically the pass rush.

It’s going to be garbage. I encourage you to look up the 2-deep on their depth chart DL and tell me who (besides Garrett) will generate any pass rush.

These aren’t young up and comers either. Malik Jackson is 31. Clowney is 28. Billings is 26 with 3.5 career sacks. Takk McKinley has regressed significantly the last few years.

If you can’t get pressure on Mahomes with 4, you don’t have a chance. Especially with a pretty average secondary.

While i do agree with a lot of this, there's a few things you should give more weight to regarding Fountain.

1. We're likely carrying 6 WR's. If so, then it's really between Fountain and Powell as to who gets that spot. Andy Reid's recent comment about Powell (paraphrasing): "He's just now starting to get it". His recent comment about Fountain: "He has a real good understanding of the playbook".

Reid is telling you straight up that Fountain is ahead of Powell in terms of understanding the scheme. And it HAS shown on the field to at least some degree.

And I totally agree about the Fred Williams comparisons. We see that kind of shit every year. Preseason performers who show well but still get cut. You make the roster in camp, in the film room etc, NOT in a preseason game.

2. Fountain's SPARQ is off the charts good. We know this team LOVES high SPARQ guys. Another advantage to Fountain.

I agree with the premise of your post, and i agree that your arguments apply in most situations.

And sure, this could be Fred Williams part II.

But it could also be Victor Cruz part II as well.

Bwahaha the Fountain obsession continues . NEWSFLASH dummy!!..he was with the twos last game and was on the field when Mecole scored his TD..so he's even mixing with ONES now much to your annoyance . Furthermore he's made the most catches and gotten the most yards this preason..plus EB was praising him yesterday and Toub said "he's been great on offense" ..so buckle up you deluded clown..Tuesday could be a long day for your lame ass .

Seems like you're just asserting that he's a pretender. He can track the ball well, has that misleading good speed, good hands, what's not to like?

Veach and Reid will find us an acceptable backup. We’ve had to have one finish a close playoff game. The QB at 50 ran for a big 1st down. Made the high pressure throw to seal it. A high school football coach won us 1/2 games and would have been 2/2 without Rodgers lucky throw into the end zone.

That’s either a lot of luck or maybe Veach and Reid understand the men’s mental makeup. They may not have NFL starter skills but they will get the job done…. In the short term.
